About Rockland Minutes
Rockland Minutes is an independent project that makes Rockland County’s public meeting record easier to follow, in one place. It collects the official minutes each municipality posts — every board and committee, not only the town boards — and publishes plain-language, AI-generated summaries of what happened — decisions, bond authorizations, and attendance — with a link back to the source document for every item.
How it works. Minutes are pulled from each municipality's own public meeting portal as they’re posted. Each meeting summary is generated by AI (an automated language model) and then reviewed by a person before anything is published — nothing goes live unread. Because AI summaries can contain errors, every summary item includes a “View source” link so you can check it against the actual minutes yourself.
The official minutes are the record. These AI-generated summaries are meant to help you follow local government, not replace the official record. If a summary and the official minutes ever differ, the minutes are correct. If you spot something that looks wrong, please flag it so it can be fixed — accuracy on public matters is the entire point of this site.
Not affiliated with any of them. This is an independent, unofficial project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Rockland County, any of its towns or villages, or any of their boards or departments.
